How to use this page

  • Play the camera in place. Tapping a card mounts the live player inside this page — you stay on Seaidx, and only one feed plays at a time. Press Esc or the close button to stop it.
  • Then confirm with data. Open the destination page for the 7-day tide curve, sea-colour reading and today's Ocean Viewing Index for that same stretch of coast.
  • Ignore the picture quality, trust the picture content. Many streams are 4K; some are older 1080p or lower. Resolution tells you nothing about conditions.
  • Treat a stream as evidence, not as safety advice. A calm-looking frame says nothing about rips, water quality or lifeguard cover.

Sourcing, verification and limits

Seaidx does not host video. Cards play the operator's own public embed inside this page so you never have to leave the hub — the stream still runs on the platform that produced it and stays as reliable as that operator's infrastructure. A secondary link to the operator's own page is kept for full-screen viewing or verification. Where a source is a government tourism body or a national scenic-area administration, the card carries an official-source badge; the remaining feeds are long-running public cameras we monitor but do not operate.

Cameras move, get repositioned, or go dark. A card is only listed while the feed is publicly reachable and still shows the coast we claim it shows; broken or repurposed streams are removed rather than left as dead links — including cameras whose frame turned out to be inland or non-marine. Streams may also be limited by your network or by the hosting platform's regional rules — if one will not play, open the operator page or the destination page, which lists any additional nearby cameras.
